In 2000 The O>Matics were formed. It was a rock band born from an experimental instrumental band named Space Aged. The name "O>Matics" is a tribute to vintage sci-fi where everything was slice-o-matic, freeze-o-matic and so on. The ">" in the name was added to help it stand out. The original lineup was Mark O>Matic on vocals, guitar, and keys, Chris O>Matic on drums and Carlos O>Matic on bass. The band practiced for several months tightening up their sets and then on Feb 17, 2001 The O>Matics played their first show. Throughout the year they played all throughout New Jersey. In September 2001 The O>Matics gained a new member, possibly their most important. Carol O>Matic was a retired school bus (named Carol for the bus' previous driver) that the band bought to travel from gig to gig. 2002 saw a change in the landscape of the O>Matics. Carlos was replaced by Jumpin’ Jamie O>Matic. Jamie brought more diversity in songwriting and song structure to the band. The trio was now able to switch instruments between them and awe audiences with their super exciting sets. For a short period in 2005, the band would go from a three-piece to a six piece "extended family." The guest musicians, Bob O>Matic on lead guitar, Geo O>Matic on Keys and Adam O>Matic on saxophone performed with the O>Matics at several venues in the tri-state area. Now The O>Matics are back to a three-piece and recently had to say goodbye to Carol O>Matic as she went to transportation heaven. With four full-length albums under their belt The Rock n' Roll hero trio is recording a new album and continues to rock n' roll for those who like music.

Carol O>Matic

Carol O>Matic spent 12 years taking the youth of Lodi New Jersey back and forth to school. After she retired from the education field, Carol was reborn as the transportation for the O>Matics. Three seats were removed from the back to fit all the equipment and the seats that remained could occupy up to ten O>Matic Fanatics. She was a site to site and blushed at the complements she received at the many venues she traveled. In 2007 she gave all that she could. Constant overheating problems and alignment issues made her sing her last song. The O>Matics thank Carol for all the miles she went and all the smiles she gave us.
